I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH

But… does your son Jaime love you? It is a common question.
If we ask what love means, we are likely to get different answers, even if we read about love we may end up seeing contradictory things.
But in any case it is about feeling and for people with ASD it is not easy to understand and express it. Many of them, when they can do so, ask you questions in an attempt to understand things that for the rest of us seem obvious, simple or simply intuitive.
And as such a feeling turns out to be something personal and can be expressed in many ways.
Believing is free and I can believe anything, I can believe that Jaime loves me. But knowing is different, it is difficult, although I do know that I am important to him and that means a lot to me (Jaime looks at me smiling and says “and yes, I love you very much… mom”, we have no doubt about that)
