He is 25 years old (happy birthday… sang Jaime). He stopped being a child a long time ago and I often forget about it. He is older, he no longer likes the same things and he wants to choose.
Our children grow up and in this process there is a rupture that almost always generates tension. Beyond reasons and arguments, they claim their freedom to give their opinion and decide, and this comes to upset something that until then we believed was under control, while at the same time it causes us panic because of the risks they begin to take.
In the end, they are not going to do anything different from what we did (I have to make an effort to remember my unconsciousness, the excess of energy and my mother's face when I argued with her about something) even if, as always happens, the circumstances are different.
This rebellion is necessary for them to form their personality, they begin to discover other things and we are no longer their unquestionable reference. Even though they drive us crazy, it is clear that we have to start changing the way we relate to them.
Jaime has put the shirt she had chosen for him back in his drawer and is choosing another one. He is older and decides what he wants… and he is right, he looks better in the one he has put on.
